  3. Gora 'Spike' Fire Staff - 1.5m/100mm

This is the most budget- and travel friendly 2-in-1 combination of a contact staff and a dragonstaff. Basically it is a Fire Contact Staff with 3-3 rivet nuts on both sides. These nuts allow for the attachment of 3-3 fireheads, which converts your contact staff into an 8-headed (3+1)+(3+1) dragon.

The spikes are the same as the standard Gora Fire Hoop heads. The Spiked Contact Staff, used as a dragonstaff weighs 1150 g which is medium weight: It is lighter than a 10-headed dragon (= contact staff + adapter + heads) but heavier than a 8-headed (4+4) dragon.

A good contact staff must have a good momentum, which is only possible if the ends are heavy, while the middle part is light. The body of the staff is made from a "Space Tech" aluminum alloy 7075, which has the same tensile strength as steel, but is light and flexible like aluminum, so it never breaks or bends. In case of choosing a collapsible version of the spiked contact staff you can choose a carbon fiber tube middle part (22X1.5mm) to increase momentum.

The handling surface is covered with our 3.2 mm thick SuperGrip©. It has a soft spongy underlayer and a sticky, dotted overlayer which does not get slippery when wet. Over the years we have tested many versions and this by far provides the best hold even when your body sweats, and is also suitable for contact staff players with sensitive skin or allergies. The weight middle-point is clearly marked.

The flowers slow down the rolling movement of the staff a bit. Furthermore, the rubber gives additional weight for the spin. You can remove and reattach them as you like.

The staff has silicone protectors near the fireheads. In general, if you make a mistake with moving the contact staff, the heated metal can cause serious fire burns but this will not happen as the silicone parts are there to protect you. The black colour silicone has the highest heat resistance!

The Classic fireheads on our contact staff are made from 10 cm wide kevlar wick and you can choose between 3 sizes. You can also opt for special fireheads which are knotted from kevlar rope in 3 designs: Isis fireheads made from 6 ropes, Wicker fireheads made from 4 thicker ropes or Monkey Fist fireheads which results in a ball shape. All three knotted designs give a beautiful and large flame, however they are more costly to make and more difficult to replace. If for your performance it is important that no excess fuel drops on the ground, we recommend choosing one of these knotted fireheads. On the other hand, for burnoff tricks the Classic fireheads are more suitable.

  7. Gora Body Torch

Our body torches are a unique prop for fire dancers and acrobats. They create a wonderful set with our hand candles, which are similar in design.

The difference is that the body torches can be attached to different parts of your body. They have a different attachment method, have a longer wire and a larger head. It is also possible to use the body torches as a hand candle.

The thick leather circle protects the body from the heat of the flames. The Kevlar head is attached to a flexible spring wire which ensures that it doesn’t break or bend when hit by a force. This design supports durability and channels less heat towards your body.

The body torches are fastened to your body with a velcro, so you can take them off with a single movement if necessary. The body torches can be attached to your upper and lower arms and ankles.

    Prices are for a pair.

    Usage recommendations:

    • Read and follow fire safety requirements for clothing, this is especially important in case of body torches! For example, if you use the body torches on your legs, it is of uttermost importance that you wear either nothing on your legs, or relatively thick, fire safe materials which align with your legs and are not loosely floating. Also, never ever wear polyester or any fibers containing plastics.
    • Always check the wind direction. Don’t use the body torches when the wind is strong, and take into account the wind direction in case of any wind at all – it can blow the flames towards your body.
    • Thoroughly test your choreography, especially acrobatics to understand which moves channel the flames and heat towards your body.
    • No fuel should get on the leather parts.
    • Do not store your body torches in a closed bag, as the fuel might evaporate and eventually soak the leather parts, creating a fire hazard!
    • After use, wait until the torches cool down, then store in a bag with some ventilation.
    • Be careful when you hold the torches upside down!

  8. Gora Contact Fire Staff 1.5m / 100mm Wick
Gora has been calling this 'the ultimate contact staff' and he may be right. Gora has gone back to basics but introduced a few innovative features which really make this staff special. Using a very special aluminium alloy (known as 7075) ensures that the middle section of the staff is light yet strong as Steel. The ends have been packed with additional weight to provide awesome momentum. Furthermore the staff uses silicone protectors near the fire heads. This means that this staff has far less exposed metalwork than conventional fire staffs and is thus much safer. Gora also includes two of his signature inverted rubber 'flowers' - these slow the staff down slightly as well as giving additional weight. They can be removed if desired. Each end of the staff is finished with generous lengths of 100mm Kevlar® wick. Please note that this staff should not be held vertically whilst on fire. Fire Staff Spinning is obviously extremely dangerous - this prop should only be sold to responsible adults.

  9. Gora Dragon Staff Cuffs - Set of 2
These Dragon Staff Adapter Cuffs have been designed by Gora to compatible with most Gora staffs as well other staffs with a diameter of 25mm or less. Each cuff is mounted with 4 threaded spokes which can be either attached loosely (for practice) or locked in firmly for the confident, advanced spinner. The spokes are exceptionally strong but light. Using the cuff system makes your Dragon staff easier to transport but also allows you to upgrade other staffs you may already own. The Dragon Staff Cuffs mean that the staff moves much slower and will be best suited to experienced contact staff manipulators. It goes without saying that these cuffs can make a staff exceptionally dangerous in the wrong hands - as with all fire products, these cuffs are only available to adults and we strongly advise excessive safety precautions and lots of practice before doing your first burn.

  10. Gora Dragon Staff Cuffs Adapters (Pair) - Rainbow

Based on experience with previous versions of Dragonstaff designs using Dragon Adapter Cuffs, this latest model incorporates 17 years of experience with the Dragonstaff and 4 years of experience with the Dragon Adapter Cuff design.

Our new Rainbow Dragon Adapter Cuffs are the lightest Dragon Adapter Cuffs on the market (65g / adapter cuff, 272g / cuff with 4 spikes), and at the same time as strong and reliable as ever.

    Functionality

Quick link solution for instant assembling and disassembling: The connection of the spikes to the cuff is a quick link solution, which makes assembly and disassembly very quick and easy. The link is made using ball bearings fixed by steel springs, which can be fastened or loosened using the upper screws. Inserting and removing the spikes into / from the Adapter Cuff therefore takes only a single push / pull movement and does not require screwing movement or any tools.

Rainbow Adapter Cuff fits 4 spikes each, making it suitable for 8-headed or 10-headed Dragons.

The Rainbow Adapter Cuff is made from 6082 aluminium, which is reliable, solid and lightweight.

The spikes are made of 7075 space tech aluminium alloy, which is so lightweight it allows a 8 mm diameter for each of the spike without sacrificing stability or impact resistance.

    Package contents

    This item includes:

    • a pair of Rainbow Adapter Cuffs in the color of your choice (you can choose 1 color or 2 colors, if you choose 2 colors you can combine the 2 colors into one cuff)
    • 8 quick link spikes with fireheads (normal or large heads)
    • Alan key

    Your choices

The Rainbow Adapter Cuff can connect to any staff 25mm diameter or less. If the staff is less than 25mm you need to use some sort of tape to reach the exact diameter, aluminium tape is suitable and recommended for that. You can use also some strong tape under the cuffs to protect the surface of the silicone from scratching.

We recommend using the Rainbow Adapter Cuffs with either:

    • If you prefer a 10-headed Dragonstaff: A Gora Contact Staff (solid Fire Contact Staff or the portable Collapsible Contact Staff). In this case your Dragonstaff will have 10 (2x5) fire heads total, with one large dancing flame and a ring of fire when you roll your Dragon. If you prefer the 10-headed version, order the Gora Contact Staff of your choice + this item, which includes the adapter and the spikes with fire heads.

    OR

    • If you prefer a 8-headed Dragonstaff: A Gora Rainbow Dragon Staff Light (aluminum or carbon version, solid or collapsible version can be chosen under "Customize") designed for 8 (2x4) fire heads play, resulting in the lightest version of a Dragonstaff. If you prefer the 8-headed version, set parameters of the Gora Rainbow Dragon Staff Light, which includes the staff of your choice, the adapter and the spikes with fire heads.

    Recommendations for use

    • Choose the length of your Dragonstaff such that the distance between the two spike-crosses is at least 120 cm. For a Dragon Staff Light (for 8-heads) this means that the shortest recommended length of the staff is 120 cm. For a Contact Staff (10-heads) this means that we recommend a staff at least 150 cm long, in which case you should fix the spike-cross right next to the main fire head.
    • Do not fasten the fixing screws in the Adapter Cuff too tight, it is sufficient to tighten it enough so that the Adapter Cuff (the cross) does not turn when you roll your staff. If you fix your screws too tight, you risk damaging the silicone on your staff or causing damage if your staff falls.
    • For practice sessions you can apply the spikes by hand, but for fire spinning we recommend checking / tightening them to avoid losing them at high rotation speeds.

Important Note: We have recently upgraded the Rainbow Adapter from 25 mm to 22 mm diameter. We made this upgrade so the adapter goes directly on the aluminium core, and not on the silicone. This enhanced stability from the previous models and increases the longevity of the adapter screws in case of falls.

If you already have a Gora Staff and you want to upgrade it with this adapter, you need to cut the silicone on your staff before you place the new Rainbow Adapter.

  11. Gora Fire Bug

It is made mainly for dancers, but it can be used as a nice magic trick or for manipulation.

The Fire Fly is a little fire head on a thin chain connected together between two spring cages made of steel.

There are two different spring cages with different lengths of chains.

It can also be used as a "mono poi" when open and has an adjustable length. The spring cages are fixed to the fingers with a leather loop. The size of the loop is changeable with its screw to suit anyone's finger.

    It's a light toy, weighing only 150g.

    - Do not use the loop too tight, you have to take it off easily on your own in case of emergency.

    - Keep the leather loop away from paraffin. If it sucks up some paraffin accidentally, DO NOT USE the Fire Fly!

  12. Gora Fire Contact Sword
Designed to combine the disciplines of contact staff and stage fighting, the contact fire sword is a truly unique prop. The Gora Contact sword can be used for mock fights and spinning just as the standard Gora fire sword but this sword's special weighting shifts the balance point within the handle making contact moves possible. The core of the sword is made of aluminium 7075, which keeps weight to a minimum while making sure there is no risk of bending or breaking during normal use. This lightweight material gives the sword an overall weight of just 966g with a total a length of 1260mm. Within the pommel of the sword there is a 50mm diameter steel ball counterweight weighing 500g. As this counterweight is more than half of the swords total weight it moves the balance point to roughly halfway down the handle. The precise balance points are marked on the handle for both dry and fully dipped weights as these change as the fuel is burnt. The handle is padded with spongy EPDM rubber, covered with Tennis grip tape and shaped to improve control for the player. As with the standard Gora fire sword, the handle is separated from the burning surface by a silicone disc. This protects the handle and reduces the chance of burns to the user. Please note, Silicon is heat resistant, not fire proof. Do not hold the sword in such a way that the silicon is above the flame for any extended period.
    - Take care during transportation. Heavy impacts on the side of the blade may cause damage.
    - Using hotter burning fuels such as benzene or white gas will reduce the lifetime of the kevlar and may damage the silicone disc.
    - The contact sword is not designed for full contact fighting and will not survive the impact of strong blows.
    - Use very carefully! This is a dangerous prop designed to be used only by skilled contact staff spinners. Only ignite the prop if you have the necessary skill and abliity.

  13. Gora Fire Hat

We proudly present the one and only fire juggling hat in the world!

Whether you need an extreme costume as part of a fire show or clown act, or are looking for the best finale ever for your hat juggling act, the Fire Juggling Hat is an excellent choice. The crowd will go crazy because a hat on fire on your head looks more dangerous than it is with proper use. Our Fire Hat is suitable for almost all hat juggling tricks, including spinning, rolling and throwing.

Technical details: The base of the fire juggling had is a classic 3-layer felt cylinder. The top layer of the felt hat is soaked with a fire retardant chemical. This does not fully protect the hat, therefore it is essential to apply water before use. The top of the hat is covered with an aluminized kevlar felt layer, which is also used as metallurgical protection equipment or by volcanologists. This cover layer and the 10 mm Kevlar rope is sewn on by hand with a kevlar thread.

    How to use:

First you need to apply 2 x 10 ml lamp oil very carefully, using the syringe included in the package. It is of uttermost importance that the lampoil gets on the Kevlar only (not on the felt!).

We recommend that you use lampoil specifically, as it has a low burn temperature and longer burning time. This ensures the lifetime of your hat. Lampoil also has the advantage that you can apply it even an hour before the show, as the oil does not evaporate.

We include a spray head in the package, which can be used with any standard soft drink PET-bottle. 5-10 minutes before the show, apply water on the felt of the top part of the hat – the same parts which are soaked with the fire retardant chemical. You should not spray the Kevlar rope, as it may result in difficulty lighting up.

Finally, 1 minute before going on stage you need to apply Zippo or lighter fluid on the kevlar, which helps to ignite the lamp oil quickly. If you apply too little or too early, you may have problems lighting up. We hope we don’t need to say that the lighter fluid should not go on the felt, or any other parts of the hat.

The burn time is about 2-2.5 minutes. With proper usage, the Fire Hat is designed to last for more than 100 burns. It benefits the lifetime if the hat is in motion during your act, as the heat will be lower in this case.

    It weighs about 490g.

    Tips for proper usage:

Prepare carefully: Use a headlamp in the backstage area and take your time.

If the top of the hat gets a dent, push it back down to keep the felt as far as possible from the fire.

If the hat falls down, pick it up immediately!

Don’t hold your head downwards, when the hat is on your head and on fire.

Use background light, if possible from underneath. It helps you with throwing tricks to your head – without proper light, the fire might blind you and you can’t properly see the exact position of the hat.

Never keep the hat down when it is on fire.

Use background light from underneath, it helps with throwing it to head.

  15. Gora Fire Juggling Sword

Juggling torches with huge flames. While with the normal torches you can see only dots running around, these swords show how the blades are turning, and make a much nicer effect.

The silicone disc protects your hands. The handles are ergonomic and the grip is made of a soft, spongy plastic. The weight balance is very close to the normal clubs.

Did you ever had the feeling that your juggling torches are too small for the stage? With this Fire Juggling Swords you will never get that feeling.

The weight of a piece is 265g.

    • Use lower heat level liquid like paraffin, lamp oil or barbecue oil.
    • Do not use white spirit or benzene!
    • Do not keep the swords downwards continuously.
    • Do not light them many times without stops. Too much heat breaks the fiberglass.
    • Use background light to see the handle side precisely.

  21. Gora Fire Whip - 1.5m
We're very proud to offer the 1.5m Fire Whip made by Gora, Hungary. The Whip itself is made from 5 different braided para-aramid ropes and a serious cracker (replaceable). The handle has been carefully crafted from aluminium and covered in heatproof silicone for added safety. In addition, the whip handle is mounted with a heat shield. At the core of the whip is a fibreglass rod which becomes thinner along the shaft to help give that special flexibility. There is no need to fill up the root of the whip - this model generates plenty of flame and excessive fuel by the handle is potentially dangerous to the user and the whip itself. It's also important not to put the whip down (unless absolutely necessary) whilst it is on fire.
Whips are performance props - not toys - and should never be used in an environment where people could be hurt. A whip on fire is even more dangerous! This whip is only available to responsible adults and should only be used after adequate safety training and in an appropriate environment under supervision. Learn More

  23. Gora Flaming Devilstick Control Hand Sticks - Pair

Silicone coated fire devilstick handsticks with an aluminium shaft are a great addition to any fire performer's toolkit. The aluminium shaft provides a sturdy and durable base for the sticks, while the silicone coating ensures a comfortable and secure grip during performances.

These handsticks are specifically designed to work well with both fire flowers and devil sticks, making them a versatile option for fire performers. When soaked in paraffin, they become slightly heavier than other handsticks, which can take a bit of getting used to for some performers.

Despite the initial adjustment period, the added weight can actually be an advantage for more experienced fire performers, as it can provide greater control and stability during tricks and routines.

Overall, these silicone coated fire devilstick handsticks with an aluminium shaft are a high-quality and reliable choice for anyone looking to elevate their fire performances.

Expect fairly short burn times but an extra dangerous element to performances.

  29. Gora Practice Staff - 1.53m - ONE PIECE
The Gora Practice Staff is a fantastic prop in it's own right and not just for spinners gearing up for fire twirling. This is a smooth, well balanced staff that's perfect for training or performing without fire.
The staff's core material is the same 7075 aluminium alloy found in the Gore Fire Contact Staff. This makes it exceptionally durable and very hard to bend yet still light at the same time. To give additional momentum for contact tricks there are lathed steel rods attached to either end. One of the nicest features though is the extruded EPDM rubber handle that covers most of the inner section. This is very grippy and sticky and ideal for contact staff. Gora also also included 2 of his signature inverted 'flowers' to help slow the staff. They also work as good visual markers and fan out nicely when spun correctly.

  31. Gora Standard Fire Sword

This is the original Gora Fire Sword, first created in 2003. It has a beautiful flame, is durable and light.

The "blade" is covered with 1.5 meters of kevlar wick.

The handle is made from rubber and finished with a round knob allowing swinging movements. The silicone hand guard protects your hands from the heat, stops paraffin running on to the handle and also gives the sword a more authentic look.<br />The core is made from fibre glass making it flexible and durable

The Fire Sword is best used for dancing and swinging style moves, or to act out a fight. It is also suitable for throwing type tricks, but if this is your specialty, we recommend you go for the Flying Sword.

The core of the Fire Sword is a 10 mm fiber glass rod. The handles start with a 40 mm wooden ball knob followed by a soft spongy EPDM tube grip. A silicone disc acts as a shield to protect your hands and arms from the flames.

The tip of the blade is wrapped by a 25 mm reinforced kevlar wick to protect from abrasion. If this part is damaged, we recommend you don’t use the sword until it is replaced as this part is much easier to repair.

With the optional magnetic connection you can connect two swords and use them like a huge staff to truly surprise your audience! If you choose a connector, it also includes the second fire sword. The magnetic connection is really handy and easy to fix and release on the stage. You can use your sword-staff to spin softly, but please be aware that a heavy swing may cause the connector to release!

The weight of a fire sword is 355g, and a pair of swords with magnetic connection is 750g.

Feel the force and have a safe fight!

    Recommendations for use:

Have cooling down breaks and stops. Too much heat breaks the fiberglass!

Do not hit each other, only dance, throw or imitate the fight.

Do not keep the swords downwards continuously.

Don't put it on the ground while burning.

Use lower heat level liquids like paraffin, lamp oil or barbecue oil. Do not use white spirit or benzene.

  32. Gora Thai Staff

The classic recipe of a fire show is “Faster, Higher and MOOORE FIRE!”. Technically, the thai staff is a long spinner staff with an enormous amount of fire!

The thai staff is made from a 15 x 1 mm duraluminum tube. It resists the heat of the fire wonderfully and makes a very lightweight prop, however it is somewhat fragile so it is important to take care during transport, i.e. do not step on your thai staff.

The handling part in the middle is covered with the SuperGrip® which grants excellent hold.

Sillicone Disc protectors save your hands from the huge flames creeping up the staff as long as you keep spinning at least slowly. It is however important you do not perform static, vertical positions especially at the beginning of your show when the flames are still too large and hot!

The design of the fire blade is similar to that of the Fire Contact Sword or the Flying Sword.

Darth Maul is a long-term user of the Thai Staff and our most hardcore tester. We believe he could have won even this fight against two Jedi, had he used the fire version of the thai staff!

  34. Gora Vulcane + Funnel
The Vulcane is an elegant cane for a special substance called Lycopodium - used together carefully they can make massive fire effects to shock your audience.

Lycopodium is a fine dry powder made of a plant which has been used for fire effects for hundreds of years.
You need to sprinkle the powder into a flame. Upon contact it will catch fire and makes a massive fire circle around you.<

First you need to apply the Lycopodium into the tube (using a funnel works best). Then you can apply the paraffin to the Kevlar on the Vulcane with a syringe. From the moment you place  the Lycopodium into the tube, you have to keep the cane upright. Then carefully light the cane - make sure that there is no person, animal or any flammable material in 6 metre diameter space around you. Only if the space is safe, you can then swing the cane strongly. The centrifugal force will bring out the powder which will ignite upon contact with the head. Needless to say this is a very dangerous prop and only available to adults with adequate training.

  35. Gora Vulcano Sword

    Fire Throwing Sword

To make huge fireballs with your sword.

This unique tool is a combination of the Fire Swing Sword and the Vul-Cane.

First, you need to apply the Lycopodium into the sword's blade with the help of a funnel, then you can apply the paraffin with a syringe. You must ensure there is no excess fuel dripping anywhere near the tip of the blade, otherwise the Lycopodium will become wet and turn into mud.

From that moment you set the Lycopodium into the blade, you have to keep the Sword upside. Light the Sword, then make sure that there is no person or any flammable material in about a 6-meter-diameter. If the space is safe, you can start swinging the Sword. The centrifugal force will bring out the powder which will ignite upon contact with the head and makes a huge flame effect.

The empty and dry Sword weights 427g
